The National Blood Transfusion Services in Congo have run a validation study which has demonstrated that Hemogroup-M provides ABO grouping results 100% reliable. This was the first step towards implementing an efficient haemovigilance policy. A pilot is being implemented now with Hemogroup-M , aiming at using Hemogroup-M to confirm donor-receiver ABO compatibility at the patient bedside before administering the blood transfusion.
